Root Canal Therapy

  • Do you have a tooth that is damaged by an accident
  • Do you have a tooth with extensive dental decay?
  • Are you suffering from intense nerve-related dental pain?
  • Do you have a severely infected tooth?

If you have any of these symptoms, undergoing root canal therapy (or endodontic treatment) at Bright Star Dental will alleviate the pain, remove the infection or treat the damaged tooth.

Root canal therapy saves teeth. A severely infected tooth in the past would have resulted in tooth removal. But nowadays the tooth is saved, and during a root canal treatment only the infected pulp is removed. The root canal is then cleaned, disinfected and sealed with a filling to finish the treatment, stopping any further discomfort or infection. In the majority of cases the tooth retains its functionality, durability and appearance.

The pulp of the tooth is located in the root canals and it is this area that contains the nerve tissues and blood needed to support the tooth through its development. It is for this reason why the infection is particularly painful and requires urgent treatment.
